Colleen Kicks off Australian Tour in Brisbane

SKIPPING GIRL VINEGAR, COLLEEN HIXENBAUGH

OLD MUSEUM, Brisbane QLD: 24.06.11
After having taken an incredibly long route to get here thanks to the ash cloud, Canadian Colleen Hixenbaugh appears on stage slightly jet lagged but full of excitement. It’s the first time she’s performed sans her partner-in-crime, Paul, and while it’s a bit noticeable the songs are meant for a duo, she still pulls them off with finesse. Her breezy voice is simple and honest, as are her songs about snow globes and mermaids. After an encounter with Ray Davies of The Kinks earlier in the week she even slips in a cover of Too Much on My Mind in his honour. — “Time Off Magazine, Live Show Review”

Maude (Producer) and Sami Haijar (DOP) for lending their magnificent talent, time, and endless smiles while shooting a video for “Crepe Suzette”. The video is being completed in Colleen’s favorite British village of Box, UK and will be set to sail for June/July 2011.

Q Magazine Review

2 Feb

“A gently strummed, understated gem, Colleen Hixenbaugh’s breezy voice twists through the complex emotions of a free-spirited girl making her way in the world, while Paul Linklater’s guitar rings out like an indie Glen Campbell.” – Andy Fife, Feb 2011 Q Magazine.
